✍️ A MESSAGE FROM SAGUN: AUSTIN MOVES FAST—BUT SO DO WE
From fully autonomous rides to detox seltzers, Austin keeps surprising us every Sunday.
Staying informed IS staying ahead, especially when new systems (and flavors) change the scene.
Let’s break it all down.
🚕 Robotaxi Debuts Today Across Austin
Tesla’s much-hyped robotaxi service goes live in Austin today (Sunday), with 10–20 Model Y vehicles operating in geofenced zones, complete with Tesla Safety Monitors onboard .
🔹 Rides available via new “Robotaxi” app limited “Early Access” invites emailed to influencers and FSD beta users
🔹 Vehicles monitored remotely, Safety Monitors sit in front passenger seat
🔹 Launch could be delayed if compliance or visibility issues (i.e. fog, rain) emerge
Expect buzz downtown and along South Congress snap a photo if you see one.
🍹 Minty Seltzer Craze Hits Rainey Street
A refreshing rebellion: Mint-infused sparkling water is popping up at Rainey’s hottest bars and taquerias. Think mojito-type vibes but non-alcoholic, garnished with fresh lime and edible flowers.
Who’s behind it? Local beverage startup ATX Fizz Co., now supplying trailer parks, cafes, and weekend brunch popups.
👍 Customers say it’s “clean, crisp, and perfect with tacos.”
🛍️ Grab cans at Rainey’s Rosita’s Cantina or as a mixer at Guerilla Suit Bar.
If you’re not sipping one, you might miss the trend.
🧠 New Mental Health 911 Pilot Takes Off
Austin’s 911 is evolving Integral Care is now co-dispatching Clinicians alongside law enforcement for mental health calls .
✅ Over 50% fewer police-involved incidents, according to early data
✅ Mental health pros now respond to around 1 in 5 crisis calls
✅ Pilot covers entire city and other Travis County locations
Real support. Real difference.
